Shopify store management and maintenance

Shopify store management is the monthly work of keeping your catalog, its Google signals, the theme and the apps in working order. We take both sides: the marketing upkeep in Google, and the Liquid and app work in the store.

From €290 a month for 6 hours · reply within one working day · unused hours carry over a month

We are a member of the Shopify Partner Program.

What we look after

Other maintenance services cover the theme and the apps. Your store also lives in Google, so we check that side every month too.

Marketing upkeep

  • Products, variants and collections added or edited from your list or spreadsheet.
  • SEO fields: titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, redirects when a handle changes.
  • The product feed in Google Merchant Center: disapproved items reviewed and fixed at the source.
  • Search Console and Merchant Center errors checked every month.
  • GA4: purchases and key events re-tested after theme or app changes.
  • Seasonal storefront changes: banners, sale collections, holiday sections, planned with you.

Technical upkeep

  • Theme code edits in Liquid, CSS and small scripts.
  • Apps installed, set up, updated, and removed when you no longer use them, leftover code included.
  • Bugs fixed, starting with anything that stops customers from buying.
  • Speed and the purchase path checked after every app install or update.

What a month looks like

First week
Checks

Search Console, Merchant Center, GA4, speed and the purchase path.

Second week
Catalog and search

Product and collection edits, SEO fields, feed fixes.

Third week
Theme and apps

Code edits, app updates, cleanup.

Fourth week
Report

What we did, what we found, what we recommend, and how the hours were used.

Urgent problems do not wait for their week.

What is not included

  • New themes or stores built from scratch are a separate service: online store development.
  • Moving the store from another platform.
  • Developing your own custom apps.
  • Daily store operations: orders, customer support, stock, accounting.
  • Google Ads campaigns and ongoing SEO work: those are our Google Ads for Shopify and Shopify SEO services.

Bigger projects are quoted separately, so the monthly hours stay for upkeep.

How we get access, without your password

As members of the Shopify Partner Program we request a collaborator account. You give us the four-digit request code, choose the permissions, and approve the request. You never share your password, the account does not use up one of your staff seats, and you can remove it at any time. If that route does not suit you, a staff account with limited permissions works too.

For Google, you invite us to Merchant Center, Search Console and GA4 with the role the task needs. All accounts, the theme code and your data stay yours.

How we change the theme safely

  1. 1 We duplicate the live theme before any change, so the previous version is always one click away.
  2. 2 We make the edit in the copy and preview it.
  3. 3 We check the main pages and the purchase path.
  4. 4 Only then we publish. If something goes wrong, we restore the working version first and look for the cause after.

When monthly care is not needed

The store rarely changes and runs few apps: a one-off fix when something comes up may be enough.

You need a new theme or a rebuild: that is a project, not upkeep.

You only need someone to process orders and answer customers: that is an assistant, not this service.

Process

How the work starts

1

Step 1. Express review

A call of up to twenty minutes. We look at your store, name up to three problems and tell you whether a plan makes sense. No written report at this stage.

2

Step 2. Access and review

You approve our collaborator request and invite us to the Google accounts. We go through the theme, the apps, the feed and the tracking.

3

Step 3. Scope and routine

We agree what we will and will not touch, and how you send requests.

4

Step 4. Monthly work

The most pressing fixes first, then the monthly routine and the report.

What we can show

We do not have published Shopify case studies yet, and we will not rename other work as Shopify results. What we can show is how we work on online stores: the sample and the e-commerce case below. Neither was built on Shopify.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included

What does Shopify store management and maintenance include?
Two kinds of work every month. Marketing upkeep: products, collections, SEO fields, the Merchant Center feed, Search Console and Merchant Center checks, GA4. Technical upkeep: theme code in Liquid, installing, setting up and updating apps, fixing bugs. The exact list for your store is agreed in the first week.
What is the marketing side of the service?
We keep your catalog and its signals in Google in order: product and collection edits, titles and meta descriptions, image alt text, redirects, the product feed in Merchant Center, and error checks in Search Console and Merchant Center. We also check that GA4 still records purchases after changes.
What is the technical side of the service?
We edit your theme code (Liquid, CSS, small scripts), install and set up apps, update them, remove the ones you no longer use, and fix bugs. After each app update we check page speed and the purchase path.
What is not included?
New themes or stores built from scratch (a separate service), moving the store from another platform, and developing custom apps. We also do not run daily operations such as orders, customer support or accounting. Bigger projects are quoted separately.
Do you handle orders, customer support or stock?
No. We work on the store itself: catalog, Google signals, tracking, theme and apps. Order handling and customer messages stay with your team.
Doesn't Shopify already maintain my store?
Shopify runs the platform, the hosting and the security of the core system, and Shopify support helps with billing and account questions. Your theme, apps, custom code and product data are your responsibility, and that is what we look after.
Do I need maintenance if my store works fine today?
Not always. If your store rarely changes and runs few apps, an occasional one-off fix may be enough. Monthly care makes sense when you add products often, run several apps, advertise on Google, or cannot check errors yourself.
Do you work on a store you did not build?
Yes. We start by reviewing the theme, the apps and the Google accounts connected to the store, then agree what we will and will not touch.
Can you upload and edit products and collections?
Yes. We add and edit products, variants, collections, tags and images from your list or spreadsheet.

Google checks

Do you manage the Google Merchant Center product feed?
Yes. We check the feed, fix the product data that Merchant Center flags, and review disapproved products every month. The product data stays in your Shopify admin.
Do you check Search Console and Merchant Center errors?
Yes. Each month we review indexing and product errors in both tools, fix what can be fixed in the store, and list what needs your decision. Google decides when it reviews or reindexes a page.
Do you check GA4 tracking?
Yes. We check that purchases and key events are recorded, and test them again after theme or app changes.
Do you edit SEO fields and redirects?
Yes. We update titles, meta descriptions, alt text and redirects, and check how product pages appear in Google. Ongoing SEO work, such as building collections for search demand, is our Shopify SEO service.
Do you check speed after app updates?
Yes. After an app is installed or updated we test the main pages and the purchase path, and report anything that became slower or broke.
Do you remove apps I no longer use?
Yes. We review installed apps, tell you which ones look unused, and remove the code they leave in the theme. The subscription itself is cancelled in your Shopify admin.

Access and ownership

How do you access my store without my password?
We request a collaborator account, which Shopify allows for members of its Partner Program. You share the request code, choose the permissions and approve. You never share your password, and you can remove the account at any time.
Which permissions do you need?
Only what the agreed work needs, for example products, themes and apps. Most tasks need no access to orders, customers or payments, and we ask before we do.
Do you need access to my Google accounts?
For feed and tracking checks, yes: Merchant Center, Search Console and GA4, with a role you grant. You keep ownership of all three.
Who owns the theme code, the content and the data?
You do. Edits are made in your theme, product data lives in your store, and the Google accounts are yours. If you stop the service, nothing stays locked with us.

Safe changes

How do you change the theme without breaking my live store?
We duplicate the live theme, make the change in the copy, preview it and check the purchase path. Only then do we publish, and the previous version stays saved.
What if an app update breaks my theme or checkout?
Tell us right away. We restore the working version first, then find which change or app caused the problem and fix the cause.
What counts as an urgent problem?
Anything that stops customers from buying: checkout not working, payments failing, the store unavailable, or an app conflict that breaks key pages. Urgent problems are taken on the same day.
Will my store go offline while you work?
No. We work in a copy of the theme, so customers keep seeing the live store.

Working together

How do I send you requests?
Through one channel we agree at the start. Each request gets a short written reply with an estimate before we begin.
How fast do you reply?
Within one working day. Urgent problems are taken on the same day.
What reports will I get?
A short monthly report: what we did, what we found, what we recommend, and how the hours were used.

Price and terms

How much does Shopify maintenance cost?
€290 a month for 6 hours, €590 for 14 hours, or €990 for 25 hours. The plan depends on how much work your store needs each month; the express review helps you choose before you pay.
What happens to unused hours?
They carry over to the next month. If they are still unused after that, they expire.
What if I need more hours than my plan includes?
We tell you when the plan runs out and quote extra work at €45 an hour. Nothing is billed without your approval.
Is there a contract or a minimum term?
No long-term contract. Plans run month to month, and you can stop or change the plan with 30 days' notice.
